Market: Fair demand. Nilgiri whole leaf and bolder brokens generally saw a lower trend with discounts ranging between Rs.2/- to Rs.3/- and sometimes more. Corresponding smaller brokens received less demand and suffered many withdrawals. Well made High Range whole leaf varieties held last levels, while the brokens settled at irregular and lower levels. Nilgiri fannings were barely steady, others sold irregularly around last. |

Buying Pattern: CIS
continued to be the mainstay, although this account was less forceful. Other export demand was very
selective. Some internal activity was
evident on the Nilgiri whole leaf as well as on the medium varieties. M/s. Hindustan Unilever Limited operated
selectively on the stylish Nilgiri whole leaf/FPs and few good High Range
whole leaf. Nilgiri fannings were
selectively absorbed by the internal trade with restricted interest shown by
out market accounts. |

Pattern: M/s. AVT covered useful quantities of the good liquoring teas with support from K.S.C.S.C. and Tata Tea on the better mediums and medium sorts. The loose tea section and the local blenders operated selectively on liquoring sorts. M/s. Hindustan Unilever Limited very selective. Some export enquiry was in evidence on the clean black grainier sorts at lower levels. |
