ORTHODOX LEAF
DEMAND : Strong and widespread.
MARKET : Nilgiri whole leaf irregular and select best sold at higher prices. Brokens dearer by Rs.5/- to Rs.10/- and sometimes more. Nilgiri fannings barely steady to tending easier. Teas from other origins were a strong feature and moved up by Rs.8/- to Rs.10/- and sometimes more. Medium fannings were higher.
BUYING PATTERN : Better export enquiry was forthcoming from CIS, Iraq and Tunisia buyers. Fannings were absorbed by Tea Bag shippers along with upcountry buyers.
C.T.C. LEAF
DEMAND : Good.
MARKET : High
priced teas barely steady, others dearer by Rs.3/- to Rs.5/- and sometimes
more.
BUYING PATTERN : Bolder brokens were absorbed by exporters and M/s. AVT
along with upcountry buyers. Smaller
brokens and fannings were readily sold to exporters and internal buyers.
